Working Principle: Woodward 9907 - 162 is mainly used for precise control of the speed of engines or other power equipment. It monitors the actual speed of the power equipment by receiving signals from sensors, and these sensors can sense physical quantities such as the rotational speed of the shaft. The 9907 - 162 compares the actual speed with the preset target speed. When the actual speed deviates from the target speed, the device calculates the amount to be adjusted according to the magnitude and direction of the deviation. Then, it sends corresponding control signals to the actuator. The actuator is usually a fuel regulating valve or other similar device. By adjusting factors such as fuel supply or other factors affecting power output, the speed of the power equipment is made to approach the target speed, thus achieving precise adjustment and stable control of the speed to meet the speed requirements of the power equipment under different working conditions. Common Faults and Solutions: Unstable Speed Control Fault manifestation: The speed of the power equipment fluctuates greatly and cannot be stabilized near the set value. Possible reasons: Sensor failure leads to inaccurate feedback signals; the control parameter settings are unreasonable; the actuator responds slowly or there is a sticking phenomenon; the power supply voltage is unstable. Solutions: Check whether the connection of the sensor is firm and whether there are signs of damage, and replace the sensor if necessary; readjust the control parameters, such as proportional, integral, and derivative parameters, and optimize them through the trial-and-error method or based on experience; check the actuator, clean and lubricate the relevant parts to ensure its flexible operation, and repair or replace it if it is damaged; use a voltage stabilizer to ensure that the power supply voltage is within the range required by the equipment.

Inability to Reach the Set Speed Fault manifestation: When the equipment is running, the actual speed is always lower than the set speed, even if the control signal has reached the maximum value. Possible reasons: There is a blockage or failure in the fuel supply system, resulting in insufficient fuel supply; there are mechanical faults in the engine itself, affecting power output; the maximum output limit of the speed governor is set too low; sensor measurement deviation leads to misjudgment by the speed governor. Solutions: Clean fuel supply components such as the fuel filter and fuel injector, check the working condition of the fuel pump, and repair or replace it in case of failure; conduct a comprehensive inspection of the engine, such as checking the valve clearance, piston rings, and other components, and repair the discovered mechanical problems; check the maximum output limit parameters of the speed governor and adjust them appropriately, but be careful not to exceed the safe range of the equipment; calibrate the sensor to ensure accurate measurement. No Output Signal from the Speed Governor Fault manifestation: The speed governor does not receive the speed signal, or even if there is a speed signal input, there is no control signal output to the actuator. Possible reasons: There are faults in the internal circuit of the speed governor, such as damaged chips, loose solder joints, etc.; the input signal line is open or short-circuited; the software program has an error or freezes. Solutions: Open the housing of the speed governor, check the internal circuit, repair or replace the damaged electronic components, and re-solder the loose solder joints; check the input signal line, repair the open or short-circuited parts to ensure normal signal transmission; try to reset the speed governor. If it is a software problem, it may be necessary to re-download or update the program, and contact the manufacturer for technical support. Alarm Indicator Light On Fault manifestation: The alarm indicator light on the speed governor panel lights up, indicating that there is a fault in the equipment. Possible reasons: The equipment detects internal faults, such as overheating, overvoltage, undervoltage, etc.; faults in external sensors or actuators lead to system abnormalities; communication faults, resulting in the interruption of communication with other devices. Solutions: Check the fault code manual of the speed governor and determine the specific cause of the fault according to the alarm code. If it is overheating, check whether the cooling fan is operating normally and whether the installation environment of the equipment is well-ventilated; for overvoltage and undervoltage problems, check whether the power supply voltage is normal; if it is a sensor or actuator fault, troubleshoot and repair it according to the corresponding fault handling methods mentioned above; for communication faults, check whether the communication line connection is normal and whether the communication protocol settings are correct.
