II. Technical Specification
1. CPU & Memory Configuration
32-bit dedicated power industry processor; Full spec:8MB RAM+16MB Flash, hardware expandable up to 16MB RAM /32MB Flash.Logic scan cycle:2~10ms; Fastest analog telemetry sampling:100ms, support four-remote functions (YT/YX/YK/YTT).Built-in hardware watchdog, memory check, backplane short-circuit self-test; fault triggers communication lockout and front panel alarm.
2. Communication Parameters (Core:10BASE-T Ethernet)
- Ethernet: Fixed 10BASE-T (10Mbps Half-Duplex, RJ45 twisted pair), protocol stack: Modbus TCP, DNP3.0 TCP, IEC60870-5-104; cannot auto-negotiate to 100M, hardware limited to 10Mbps standard.
- Serial: RS232/RS485, Modbus RTU, Serial DNP3, IEC60870-5-101 for local protection & instrument connection.
- D20 Backplane Bus: Max 16pcs DI/DO/AI/AO I/O cards per rack for internal data exchange.
3. Power Supply
DC24V input (18~32VDC wide range), power consumption ≤7W; onboard isolation, surge & Grade3 EMC anti-interference against substation EMI.
4. Environment Spec
Operating: -20℃~+70℃; Storage:-40℃~+85℃; Humidity:5%~95%RH non-condensing; Vibration resistance:5g(5~500Hz).
5. Max I/O Loading Capacity
AI:64ch (4~20mA/0~10V, ±0.1%FS); DI:128ch DC24V dry contact with break detection ≤1ms response;DO:64ch relay output (5A@250VAC); Pulse input:32ch, max 1kHz for energy metering pulse.

III. Key Features
- Fixed 10Mbps 10BASE-T Ethernet: Early-generation EME hardware fixed 10BASE-T, applicable for legacy industrial 10M star network of old substations, no 100M auto-switch function.
- Large memory storage: Local storage of millisecond SOE event logs, fault waveform record, multi-group protection set values.
- Multi-protocol gateway: IEC101 serial ↔ IEC104 TCP conversion, Modbus ↔ DNP3 cross-protocol forwarding.
- Rack hot swap: Live replacement without rack power-off, online program download and diagnosis.
- Full-channel fault upload: I/O open/short fault indicated by local LED and remote SCADA alarm.
IV. Working Principle
DC24V rack power supplied to EME via backplane;Downlink: Poll DI/AI modules to collect field analog & status data, CPU executes interlock and over-limit alarm logic;Uplink: Data encapsulated by DNP3/IEC104, transmitted to SCADA via 10BASE-T Ethernet or serial port;Remote control downlink: Dispatch command parsed by EME, sent to DO boards over backplane to drive field breakers.
V. Application
- Old 10M wired network reconstruction of 10kV/35kV distribution substation D20 RTU;
- Thermal/Hydropower auxiliary cabinet monitoring, plant service power control;
- Petrochemical plant substation SIS auxiliary monitoring & UPS renovation;
- Spare replacement for in-service early D20 EME with native 10BASE-T interface.
