Description
ABB SD823 3BSC610039R1
I. Overview
ABB SD823 3BSC610039R1 is a static conversion power supply module, with its core positioning as a precision regulated power supply and redundancy coordination unit for automation systems. It belongs to ABB's industrial power supply product series and is originally manufactured in Sweden. It is specially designed for scenarios with stringent requirements for power supply stability, such as petrochemical, power control, and intelligent manufacturing industries. As a static converter-type power supply device, this module can select 115/230V AC input voltage via switching, and accurately convert it into a stable 24V DC output. It has the capability to achieve redundant power supply by linking with the SS822 voting unit, and can provide reliable DC power for downstream equipment including PLCs, DCS controllers, sensors and various control modules, serving as a key power supply component to ensure the continuous operation of core parts of industrial control systems.
II. Core Features
Two-gear Input Switching and Precision Voltage Regulation: Supports 115/230V AC two-gear input voltage, which can be adapted to different grid power supply scenarios as needed via a switch without additional adapter equipment. It provides a fixed 24V DC output with a rated output current of 10A, featuring high voltage regulation precision and low voltage fluctuation. It can supply stable power for downstream precision control equipment, avoiding equipment faults caused by voltage abnormalities.
Redundancy Coordination and Expansion Adaptability: Can be used in conjunction with the ABB SS822 power voting unit to build a redundant power supply system. When a single power supply module malfunctions, the voting unit quickly switches to the backup module, improving the overall power supply reliability and meeting the N+1 redundancy requirements of critical industrial scenarios.
Industrial-grade Stable Protection Performance: Adopts a reinforced package design with a protection rating of IP20, featuring excellent anti-electromagnetic interference capability and environmental adaptability, and can resist interference such as voltage fluctuations and electromagnetic radiation in industrial sites. It has a robust and durable structure, suitable for long-term operation inside control cabinets with a long service life, meeting the high reliability requirements of industrial scenarios.
- Convenient Installation and Operation & Maintenance Adaptability: Supports standardized TS35 DIN rail mounting with a compact structure (120mm in width, and the size is suitable for installation in the limited space of control cabinets), enabling convenient installation and disassembly. The input switching operation is simple without complex parameter configuration, allowing operation and maintenance personnel to complete commissioning and maintenance quickly and reducing operation and maintenance costs.

IV. Working Principle
ABB SD823 3BSC610039R1 power supply module realizes the conversion from AC input to stable DC output based on the core working process of input switching and adaptation - rectification and filtering - voltage regulation and conversion - output supply and redundancy coordination, while supporting redundancy linkage. The specific working process is divided into four core stages:
According to the on-site grid voltage, select the 115V AC or 230V AC input gear via the module's built-in switch. After the grid voltage is connected to the module, it first passes through the surge protection circuit to filter out instantaneous high-voltage interference in the grid, ensuring that the input voltage stably enters the next processing link.
The connected AC voltage is converted into DC voltage by the internal rectifier circuit, and then the clutter and ripple signals in the DC voltage are removed by the filter circuit to purify the voltage waveform, providing a pure DC power foundation for subsequent voltage regulation and conversion, and avoiding the impact of clutter interference on voltage regulation precision.
The filtered DC power is precisely regulated by the internal static voltage stabilization circuit to stabilize the voltage at the rated output value of 24V DC. At the same time, the output current is dynamically adjusted according to the downstream load demand, with a maximum output current of 10A supported, ensuring the stability of output voltage and current to meet the power supply demand of downstream equipment.
