The ICS Triplex T8310 Trusted® TMR Expander Processor Module is designed to occupy the processor slots within the Trusted Expander Chassis. Its primary function is to serve as the ‘slave’ interface connecting the Expander Bus to the Expander Chassis Backplane. The Expander Bus facilitates the connection of multiple chassis systems through Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable connections while preserving the fault-tolerant and high-bandwidth capabilities of the Inter-Module Bus (IMB). ICS Triplex T8310 module plays a critical role in fault containment for the Expander Bus, the module itself, and the Expander Chassis. Its purpose is to ensure that any potential faults remain localized, thereby maximizing system availability. The module employs a fault-tolerant design with HIFT TMR architecture. It includes comprehensive diagnostic, monitoring, and testing features that enable rapid fault identification. Additionally, it supports hot-standby and module spare configurations, allowing for both automatic and manual repair strategies.

Installation and Wiring
Installation: Before installation, it is necessary to ensure that the RSLinx® gateway has been installed and configured, and the IP address has been configured for the processor module. The T8310 is installed in the processor slot of the expansion chassis, and is connected to the expansion interface module through the TC-301 hot link cable and the T8312 expansion interface adapter, and is powered by the dual-redundant +24V DC power supply on the backplane of the expansion chassis.
Wiring: Digital input and output signals are connected to field devices through corresponding terminals, and analog input signals are connected to the corresponding analog input channels. When wiring the communication interfaces, the Ethernet interface can be connected to other devices or networks through a network cable, and the RS-485 interface is connected to the corresponding serial port device according to the specified wiring method to achieve data communication and remote monitoring.
