Description
GE Multilin UR6DH
Overview
GE Multilin UR6DH is a digital I/O input/output module in the Multilin UR series of general-purpose relay systems by GE, specifically designed for industrial automation scenarios. Its core function is to act as a signal bridge between on-site equipment and control systems (such as PLCs, relays, etc.), enabling the collection (input) of digital signals and the execution (output) of control commands. The module features a modular structure, high reliability, and flexible expandability, allowing seamless integration into various industrial control systems. It is widely used in industrial scenarios requiring real-time monitoring and precise control.
Functional Features
- Multi-channel Signal Processing Capability
- Typically equipped with 16 digital input channels (some configurations have 6 input channels) and 6 digital output channels (including normally open unmonitored outputs). It can simultaneously collect multi-channel status signals from on-site equipment (such as switch states, operation/fault signals, etc.) and output control commands (such as start-stop commands, alarm triggers, etc.).
- Supports high-speed signal transmission to ensure the real-time performance and accuracy of digital signals, meeting the response speed requirements of industrial processes.
- High Compatibility and Flexibility
- Compatible with the GE Multilin UR series relay systems, it can directly replace old modules or expand the I/O capabilities of existing systems, reducing system upgrade costs.
- Configurable and monitorable via EnerVista UR software, which provides an intuitive Viewpoint interface supporting parameter setting, status monitoring, and fault diagnosis, simplifying operation and maintenance processes.
- Industrial-grade Reliability
- Adopts a compact and durable industrial-grade design with strong anti-electromagnetic interference capabilities, suitable for complex industrial environments.
- The modular structure facilitates installation, disassembly, and maintenance, reducing system downtime.

Working Principle
The working process of UR6DH is based on the closed-loop logic of "signal collection - processing - output":
- Signal Input: Digital signals from on-site equipment (such as sensor switching values, equipment operation status signals, etc.) are collected through input channels. These signals are isolated and processed by internal circuits, then converted into logic levels (0 or 1) recognizable by the module.
- Signal Processing and Interaction: The module transmits the processed digital signals to the main controller of the UR series relay via an internal bus, or directly uploads them to upper computers (such as PLCs, monitoring systems) through the Modbus RTU protocol. Meanwhile, it receives control commands from the main controller or upper computers.
- Signal Output: According to preset logic or external commands, logic signals are converted into electrical signals (such as relay contact signals) that can drive on-site equipment through output channels, realizing control actions such as starting/stopping equipment and triggering alarms.
Application Fields
With its flexible I/O expansion capability and industrial-grade reliability, UR6DH is widely used in the following fields:
- Power Industry: Equipment status monitoring (such as circuit breaker status, disconnector signal collection) and auxiliary system control (such as cooling system start-stop) in substations and power plants.
- Industrial Automation: Linked control of production line equipment (such as conveyor start-stop, valve switching) and signal interaction in robot workstations.
- Energy and Chemical Industry: Status monitoring and control of pumps, fans, and other equipment in petrochemical plants to ensure stable production processes.
- Building Automation: Signal collection and control of air conditioning, lighting, and security systems (such as access control, fire alarms) in smart buildings.
- Transportation and Infrastructure: Linked control of signal systems in rail transit and tunnel ventilation equipment, etc.
