Working Principle

Eddy Current Effect: The PR6423 sensor operates based on the eddy current effect. When the sensor probe approaches the metal surface under test, a high-frequency alternating current is passed through the coil inside the probe, generating an alternating magnetic field on the probe surface. This magnetic field induces eddy currents on the metal surface, which in turn produce a magnetic field opposite in direction to the original field, affecting the impedance of the probe coil. By measuring the change in coil impedance, the distance change between the probe and the metal surface can be determined, enabling non-contact displacement measurement.


Signal Processing: The CON021 preamplifier is used to process and convert the signals detected by the sensor. It transforms the impedance change signal of the sensor coil into standard output signals, such as 0-10V or 4-20mA analog signals, for easy transmission and processing/display by subsequent measurement and control devices.
