Description

1. Product Overview

Model: 1KHW000600R0001

Brand: ABB

Product Name: Drive System Signal Conditioning Board, Auxiliary Signal Transfer Board

Product Description: 1KHW000600R0001 is an original dedicated board for ABB industrial variable frequency drive systems, widely applied to ABB high-power inverters and AC drive control systems. The board is mainly responsible for collecting, filtering, shaping, amplifying and level-shifting internal temperature signals, analog sensor signals and auxiliary logic signals of the equipment. It serves as a core auxiliary hardware for inverter temperature monitoring, auxiliary status feedback and low-speed signal adaptation.

Custom-designed specifically for drive systems, it differs from general-purpose I/O boards. Optimized to tackle high-frequency electromagnetic interference, weak signal drift and signal instability under high-temperature conditions in variable frequency equipment, it delivers high-precision signal processing and electrical isolation protection. It cannot be arbitrarily replaced by universal industrial control boards. It is suitable for routine maintenance, spare parts replacement and system stability improvement of ABB drive equipment in power, metallurgy, chemical, building material and other industries.

2. Core Functions

  1. Collect signals from internal inverter temperature sensors, and perform filtering, calibration and amplification to provide accurate data for system over-temperature protection.

  2. Carry out signal conditioning, waveform shaping, noise reduction and error correction for weak signals such as on-site limit signals, low-speed sensor signals and auxiliary feedback signals.

  3. Realize level conversion and loop buffering of multiple auxiliary logic signals to meet identification standards of the main control system.

  4. Adopt full-loop electrical isolation, surge suppression, overvoltage and overcurrent protection to block interference signals and abnormal current from propagating to downstream circuits.

  5. Identify abnormal signals in real time to avoid false faults, false alarms and erroneous interlock actions, ensuring stable operation of the drive system.

3. Technical Features

  1. Original factory exclusive compatibility: Hardware parameters, circuit logic and interface definitions fully match ABB high-power variable frequency drive equipment. Plug-and-play without parameter modification or firmware programming.

  2. High-precision signal processing: Equipped with multi-stage filtering and precision amplifier circuits to effectively suppress electromagnetic interference caused by inverter switching, eliminating signal fluctuation, sampling deviation and temperature drift.

  3. Superior anti-interference and isolation protection: Full-channel electrical isolation design withstands high-frequency interference, voltage fluctuation and start-stop surges, adapting to harsh industrial operating conditions.

  4. Non-destructive direct replacement: Standard slot mounting. Dimensions, pin assignments and wiring are fully compatible with legacy boards, shortening downtime and improving maintenance efficiency.

  5. Industrial durable construction: High-temperature resistant PCB and anti-aging components with dust and vibration resistance, supporting 24-hour continuous operation.

  6. Low-latency real-time transmission: Optimized signal links ensure fast response, guaranteeing real-time and reliable over-temperature protection and interlock actions.

5. Working Principle

After power-on, the board automatically completes hardware initialization and circuit self-test. It enters normal operation after confirming normal power supply, wiring and chip status. During equipment operation, internal inverter temperature signals, on-site auxiliary sensor signals and limit logic signals are connected to this board. Raw noisy, weak and interfered signals are converted into standard stable signals transmitted to the main control board via multi-stage noise filtering, waveform shaping, precision amplification and level matching.

The board monitors all circuit conditions continuously. It automatically activates isolation and current limiting protection against voltage fluctuations, interference surges and signal anomalies to prevent fault propagation. Meanwhile, it accurately distinguishes valid signals from fault signals, assisting the system in temperature protection, status monitoring and interlock control to realize closed-loop stable operation of the entire drive system.

6. Common Faults & Solutions

  1. Frequent over-temperature alarms, fluctuating temperature readings and temperature value drift

Causes: Aging of sampling and filtering circuits; oxidized poor contact on interfaces; parameter drift under high temperature; ineffective suppression of electromagnetic interference.

Solutions: Clean board gold fingers and connectors; improve cabinet heat dissipation; check external temperature sensors. Replace with original board if calibration and cleaning fail.

  2. Fluctuating auxiliary feedback signals, accidental interlock triggering and abnormal status display

Causes: Failed signal shaping circuits, degraded isolation performance, poor shielding of cables, loose wiring.

Solutions: Fasten wiring terminals, implement proper shielding & grounding, keep signal cables away from high-power interference sources. Replace the board if circuit performance deteriorates.

  3. Excessive board heating and signal interruption after period of operation

Causes: Poor heat dissipation due to dust accumulation, minor circuit overload, component aging, performance degradation from long-term high-frequency interference.

Solutions: Clean dust and optimize heat dissipation; inspect circuit load. Replace the board to avoid damage to main control and power modules.

  4. Severe fluctuation and unstable speed regulation at low speed

Causes: Insufficient sampling accuracy for weak signals, failed filtering, increased signal transmission delay.

Solutions: Reinstall and fasten the board; optimize grounding and shielding. Replace the board to restore sampling precision when hardware performance declines.

  5. Equipment fails to recognize the board after replacement, signal mismatch

Causes: Improper installation, incorrect wiring, non-original substitute board, abnormal system parameters.

Solutions: Reinstall the board in correct position; verify wiring consistency; adopt genuine original board; restore factory default parameters and restart for commissioning.
