ICS TRIPLEX T8451C is a TMR triple modular redundant 40-channel digital output module for ICS Triplex Trusted safety control systems. Designed for SIL4 safety instrumented systems, emergency shutdown and critical process interlock applications in high-risk industries, it adopts three independent hardware channels with 2-out-of-3 voting fault-tolerant architecture to eliminate single-point safety failure, fully complying with IEC 61508 SIL4 functional safety standards.


The module provides 40 isolated digital output channels divided into 8 independent power groups with 5 channels each, each channel supporting 2A maximum inductive load drive for solenoid valves, circuit breaker trip coils and field alarm devices. Equipped with full-channel open/short-circuit online diagnostic function, backplane hot-swap capability and multi-level surge protection, it has obtained ATEX hazardous area, UL and CE certifications. Widely used in petrochemical, gas power, coal chemical and oil & gas pipeline industries, it serves as original spare part for legacy SIS system I/O replacement, safety loop expansion and redundant architecture upgrading.

1. TMR Triple Redundant Voting Unit

Three fully independent control sub-channels with dedicated microprocessors, isolated power supplies and drive circuits operate synchronously, adopting hardware 2-out-of-3 voting logic. Any single-channel hardware fault will trigger automatic fault isolation with seamless switchover within 1ms, ensuring uninterrupted safety interlock output and meeting SIL4 fault tolerance requirements.


2. 40-channel Group-isolated Digital Output Unit

40 output channels are divided into 8 electrically isolated power groups, preventing cross-group fault propagation. Each channel integrates freewheeling protection, reverse voltage suppression and short-circuit current limiting circuits, supporting real-time load fault detection with local LED alarm indication and fault code uploading to the safety controller.


3. Redundant Backplane Bus Communication Unit

Standard Trusted proprietary high-speed redundant backplane interface realizes bidirectional data exchange between the module, safety CPU and other I/O modules, supporting CRC data verification, link fault diagnosis and online hot-swap replacement without interrupting system safety operation.


4. Wide-range Isolated Power Supply Unit

24VDC nominal input with 20~32VDC wide voltage adaptation, built-in multi-level protections against overvoltage, undervoltage, reverse connection and surge. Fanless passive heat dissipation eliminates vulnerable moving parts for long-term stable operation in enclosed control cabinets.


5. Status Indication & Industrial Mounting Unit

Front panel LED indicators display channel status, module operation, hardware fault and bus communication. Metal shielding housing with three-proof coated PCB provides excellent anti-interference, dust-proof and moisture-proof performance, adopting standard rack plug-in mounting for convenient in-situ replacement.
