Description

1. Product Overview

GE DS200GSIAG1B is a Common DC Bus Regenerative Board belonging to GE Speedtronic Mark V DS200 legacy turbine and high-power drive control system, manufactured in the USA and officially discontinued. It serves as the core hardware for DC bus voltage clamping, braking energy feedback, IGBT gate drive signal forwarding and bus voltage monitoring for four-quadrant industrial drives and turbine excitation control systems. During motor deceleration and braking, regenerative energy is dissipated and stabilized on the DC bus to prevent overvoltage breakdown of IGBT power modules. It also transmits drive pulses from the main controller and uploads power unit fault feedback to the rack backplane bus, acting as the last hardware protection barrier for the power loop of Mark V drive equipment. It is widely used as replacement spare parts for thermal power turbine units, steel rolling main drives and mine hoist control systems.

2. Hardware Structure & Functional Units

2.1 DC Bus Regeneration & Voltage Stabilization Unit

Equipped with RC snubber circuits and power dissipation loops to sample DC bus voltage in real time. Excess regenerative energy is consumed to limit bus voltage within a safe range, suppress dv/dt voltage spikes and avoid catastrophic IGBT failure.

2.2 Keyed Multi-Connector Signal Interface Unit

3×40-pin, 2×16-pin and 1×8-pin polarized keyed headers prevent reverse insertion damage. Downward transmission of IGBT trigger pulses and upward upload of power module fault signals are realized via ribbon cables.

2.3 6-Bank Jumper Configuration Unit

Six jumper groups adjust overvoltage threshold, regeneration sensitivity, three-phase damping parameters and fault latch logic. No PCB modification is required to adapt to different drive power ratings and turbine unit models.

2.4 Side-Mounted Status Indicator LED

A green LED is mounted on the board edge, visible through the cabinet observation window without opening the door. Steady or flashing light indicates normal operation; dark LED denotes power loss, communication interruption or hardware failure.

2.5 On-Board Test Points & Hardware Fault Latch

Multiple test terminals allow direct multimeter measurement of sampling voltage and pulse signals. Fault conditions including overvoltage, overcurrent and missing drive pulses are hardware latched and require power cycle reset to clear.

2.6 Backplane Bus & Power Input Unit

Gold-plated rear connector connects to the Mark V rack backplane for 24VDC logic power and parallel system bus communication, with excellent vibration and oxidation resistance for long-term cabinet operation.
