Description
1. Overview
ALSTOM N895609510K, N895609010R and N895609100P constitute a complete E32OUT 32-channel industrial output module set. They are dedicated output execution units matching ALSTOM turbine control systems, power plant DCS and auxiliary equipment sequence control systems.
Adopting a three-card coordinated integrated architecture, the assembly is designed for control command forwarding, logic output, equipment driving and loop interlock actuation. It accurately converts control commands calculated by the main ECPU into discrete switching signals and driving signals recognizable by field equipment, serving as the core output terminal board connecting the system main control layer and on-site actuators.
E32OUT denotes that the module is equipped with standard 32 independent output channels featuring large channel capacity, powerful driving capability and fast actuation response. It fully meets the driving and control requirements of various field actuators in power plants such as valves, dampers, motors, relays and interlock loops.
The entire module set has passed stringent industrial tests including high & low temperature cycling, vibration shock, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and long-term energized aging tests. It can endure harsh cabinet operating conditions in power stations such as high temperature & humidity, dust accumulation, intense electromagnetic interference and 24/7 uninterrupted continuous operation for years.
Natively compatible with all ALSTOM control systems of the same architecture, it enables non-destructive in-situ replacement of legacy output modules of the same model. It is widely used for rectification of unit output loops, optimization of execution control links, maintenance replacement of outdated output boards and capacity expansion renovation of output channels for industrial control systems.

2. Technical Features
2.1 High-Density 32 Independent Output Channels with High Integration
The module integrates 32 fully isolated independent output channels. A single board accommodates massive output loops without stacking multiple cards, greatly simplifying cabinet hardware configuration and wiring workload.
All channels operate independently without mutual interference, with dedicated driving circuits and individual protection for each channel. A fault on one channel will not affect other channels or the overall module operation, ideal for large-scale centralized control of auxiliary machinery, valves and interlock loops in power plants.
2.2 Powerful Driving Capacity & Ultra-Fast Response Speed
Embedded high-power driver chips and high-speed switching circuits deliver extremely low signal response delay, perfectly satisfying timing requirements for transient interlocks, rapid start-stop and real-time regulation of power units.
Boasting strong load capacity, it can steadily drive conventional relays, contactors, solenoid valves, electric actuators and damper mechanisms. No voltage drop, signal attenuation or actuation lag occurs under loaded operating conditions.
2.3 Full-Cycle Output Verification to Prevent Unintended or Refused Actuation
A closed-loop output checking mechanism is realized relying on the dedicated verification board. Full-process monitoring and comparison are implemented throughout command reception, signal conversion, power output and status feedback, automatically intercepting abnormal commands, interference-triggered pulses and false signal outputs.
It effectively eliminates unintended equipment movement, refused operation and chattering false triggering caused by electromagnetic interference, bus fluctuation and signal drift, significantly improving operational safety of unit execution loops.
2.4 Multi-Stage Electrical Protection with Excellent Anti-Interference Performance
Each output channel is embedded with protection circuits against overcurrent, overvoltage, short circuit, surge, electrostatic discharge and back EMF absorption. It efficiently suppresses reverse voltage generated during equipment start-stop, line induced voltage, power frequency noise and harmonic interference from frequency converters.
Under harsh power plant conditions with intense electromagnetic fields, voltage fluctuations and high-frequency disturbances, output status remains stable without channel breakdown or false triggering, adapting to severe complex industrial environments.
2.5 Precise Timing Synchronization for Superior System Coordination
Precise clock synchronization with the main ECPU and system bus is realized via the dedicated backplane, ensuring commands are output strictly in accordance with system control timing. Timing misalignment, command conflicts and chaotic movements during coordinated multi-device control are completely avoided.
It perfectly complies with timing demands of unit interlock logic, sequence control programs and protection actuation, guaranteeing closed-loop stability of the whole control system.
2.6 Native Compatibility for Non-Destructive In-Situ Replacement
The overall dimensions, pin assignments, electrical definitions, bus protocols and output logic of the complete module set are fully consistent with original ALSTOM E32OUT series output boards. Faulty legacy boards can be directly replaced on site.
No system configuration modification, control logic adjustment or field wiring renovation is needed; the module can be put into service immediately after passing power-on self-test, drastically cutting maintenance downtime and renovation man-hours.
2.7 Intelligent Self-Diagnosis for Accurate Fault Localization
The module integrates full-channel self-check upon power-up, real-time runtime monitoring, output status diagnosis and loop fault identification functions. It automatically detects channel disconnection, short circuit, overload, no output and signal anomalies, pinpoints faulty channels accurately and generates fault codes uploaded to the upper monitoring system.
Maintenance personnel can troubleshoot and rectify defects rapidly, shortening fault handling time and fitting the unattended operation mode of power units.
2.8 Rugged Industrial Construction for Long-Term Maintenance-Free Operation
All circuit boards are manufactured with military-grade components, thickened flame-retardant PCBs and triple-proof conformal coating (moisture-proof, dust-proof, anti-corrosion). They withstand enclosed high temperature, humid condensation, dust accumulation, high-frequency vibration and long-term energized operation inside cabinets.
Free of moving mechanical parts, the assembly features excellent anti-aging, anti-degradation and fatigue resistance. No output drift or channel attenuation occurs over prolonged operation, and regular calibration is unnecessary, meeting the requirement of 24-hour uninterrupted long-cycle operation of power units.

4. Working Principle
After the whole ALSTOM E32OUT 32-channel output module set is powered on, the three boards sequentially complete hardware initialization, channel self-inspection, output loop verification, bus clock synchronization and parameter calibration. Upon successful self-checks, the assembly enters steady output driving mode, synchronously communicating with the main ECPU system all the time and standing by to execute control commands.
Control commands issued by the system ECPU computing module including interlock actuation and equipment start-stop instructions are firstly received, time-sequence parsed, channel allocated and data synchronized via the N895609100P bus interface backplane. Precise timing and intact data are guaranteed to provide valid standardized instructions for subsequent output driving.
The parsed standardized commands are transmitted to the N895609510K main output driver board, which distributes signals to corresponding 32 independent output channels according to control logic. After signal shaping, power amplification and optoelectronic isolation, standard driving signals are generated to directly actuate on-site solenoid valves, actuators, relays, interlock loops and auxiliary machinery, realizing process regulation, equipment start-stop and interlock protection of power units.
Throughout the entire output process, the N895609010R output verification & protection board collects output status, driving current, signal amplitude and loop operating conditions of each channel in real time, comparing them with issued commands continuously. Once output deviation, signal abnormality, short-circuit overload, false triggering or loss of output is detected, single-channel latching protection will be triggered immediately to isolate the faulty channel. Fault codes are recorded and uploaded to the upper monitoring system without disrupting operation of other healthy channels.
The module continuously feeds back real-time output status of all channels to the main control system, forming a closed-loop control workflow: command issuance → output execution → status feedback → verification & error correction. It comprehensively ensures accurate, stable and safe operation of unit output execution loops and avoids maloperation, refused actuation and coordinated movement disorder of field equipment.
