BERTHOLD LB4460 is an industrial nuclear radiation density and concentration online measuring instrument developed by BERTHOLD Technologies Germany. 4. Operating Principle

The BERTHOLD LB4460 system consists of a radioactive source unit, a high-precision detector unit and an intelligent processing host. The radioactive source emits stable gamma rays that penetrate the process pipeline and internal medium. The ray energy attenuates proportionally according to the medium density and composition.


The detector collects the residual ray energy, converts optical signals into electrical signals and transmits them to the host. With built-in calibration models and multi-dimensional compensation algorithms, the host calculates real-time medium density, concentration and solid content data, eliminating environmental and working condition interference to output accurate and stable process parameters.


The device supports real-time self-diagnosis of hardware, radiation intensity and communication status.
