Description
1. Overview
The Triconex 5411H is a TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) relay output module for Schneider Tricon SIS safety instrumented systems. Designed for critical industrial safety applications including Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), Burner Management Systems (BMS) and process interlock protection, it adopts a comprehensive fault-tolerant architecture to ensure continuous safe operation even under single or dual hardware fault conditions.
Equipped with 32 isolated relay output channels, industrial sealed relays and full-range self-diagnosis functions, the module features fast response, strong load capacity and excellent anti-interference performance. It supports online hot-swap maintenance without system shutdown, fully complying with IEC 61508 SIL3 safety standards. It is widely used in petrochemical, power, metallurgy and other high-risk process industries as the core safety execution unit of SIS systems.
2. Technical Features
2.1 TMR Triple Modular Fault-Tolerant Architecture
Adopting Triconex original triple redundant hardware structure, three independent logic and output circuits operate in parallel with real-time hardware voting. The system tolerates single and dual-point hardware faults with automatic fault isolation, eliminating interlock failure and misoperation risks, and meeting strict SIL3 functional safety requirements.
2.2 32-Channel Isolated Relay Output
Integrates 32 independent electrically isolated output channels. Each channel supports 250V AC/DC wide voltage load with 2A rated current, directly driving on-site solenoid valves, coil relays, indicator lights and small actuators. Single-channel faults are isolated independently without interfering with other channels.
2.3 Ultra-Fast Response & Precise Interlock Output
Optimized hardware circuit design ensures output response time less than 10ms, supporting rapid emergency shutdown and safety cut-off actions. It provides stable and delay-free output to meet the instantaneous protection requirements of high-risk process conditions.
2.4 Full-Range Intelligent Self-Diagnosis
Real-time monitoring of relay status, circuit continuity, load abnormality, power supply, voting circuit and communication link. It accurately identifies channel open/short circuit, relay adhesion and overload faults, uploads fault codes and triggers local LED alarms for fast fault location and traceability.
2.5 Online Hot-Swap Maintenance
Supports non-stop online module replacement. Module disassembly and replacement will not interrupt system operation or affect normal interlock output, greatly improving system availability and adapting to continuous industrial production maintenance requirements.
2.6 G3 Anti-Corrosion & Industrial Anti-Interference Design
Complies with ISA S71.04 G3 high-grade anti-corrosion standard. Reinforced moisture-proof, dust-proof and anti-corrosion processing ensures stable operation in harsh industrial environments. Excellent EMC anti-interference performance resists on-site electromagnetic disturbance from high-power equipment.
2.7 Mechanical Anti-Insertion Error Design
Unique mechanical keying structure prevents incorrect slot installation and module mismatching, avoiding system failures caused by human installation errors and ensuring standardized and reliable SIS hardware configuration.

4. Operating Principle
The Triconex 5411H operates based on TMR triple modular redundancy fault-tolerant principle. It integrates three completely independent circuits for logic operation, signal processing and relay output. All three circuits synchronously receive interlock commands from the SIS main controller and execute parallel judgment.
The hardware real-time voting mechanism adopts a 2-out-of-3 fault-tolerant logic to confirm the final output signal and drive on-site equipment actions. When one or two internal circuits fail abnormally, the system automatically isolates faulty channels and maintains normal output logic through healthy circuits, effectively avoiding interlock refusal and misoperation.
The module executes full-time self-diagnosis to monitor channel status, load conditions, communication and power supply in real time, uploading fault alarms to the upper system. With online hot-swap capability, it supports non-stop system maintenance while ensuring long-term stable and safe operation of high-risk industrial processes.
5. Application Scenarios
1. Petrochemical ESD emergency shutdown system core interlock output control.
2. Power plant boiler burner management system (BMS) safety logic execution.
3. High-risk process interlock protection and safety cut-off control in metallurgy and fine chemical industries.
4. Linkage safety control of key industrial equipment and emergency protection devices.
5. SIS system capacity expansion, old module replacement and technical renovation projects.
