Description

1. Product Overview

Honeywell EG1033AC01 is a dedicated ultraviolet flame signal amplifier matched with the LG series gas turbines. As a core monitoring component for industrial combustion safety, it connects to Honeywell ultraviolet flame detectors to collect weak ultraviolet radiation signals of flames within the wavelength range of 180~260nm. After signal amplification, filtering and discrimination, it outputs digital on/off signals indicating flame presence or loss via relay contacts, providing interlock judgment basis for flame failure and abnormal ignition to DCS and SIS safety instrumented systems, which effectively prevents major safety accidents such as gas leakage, deflagration and furnace explosion.

This module supports dual power supply modes: 28VDC DC and 115VAC AC. It is equipped with a continuously adjustable signal gain circuit and an electromagnetic interference suppression loop, featuring rapid fault alarming upon flame loss. Adopting an industrially reinforced sealed enclosure with wide temperature and strong vibration resistance, it is widely used for flame safety monitoring of combustion equipment including thermal power gas turbines, industrial boilers, petrochemical heating furnaces and metallurgical heat treatment furnaces. It can be deployed for combustion safety systems of new units or used as a spare replacement for legacy flame monitoring devices.

2. Hardware Structure and Composition

2.1 Dual-Channel UV Signal Acquisition and Amplification Unit

Two independent flame signal input terminals S1 and S2 are provided, supporting single-channel or dual-channel redundant connection of ultraviolet flame detectors. The input circuit integrates electrical isolation and high-frequency filtering circuits to filter electromagnetic noise generated by on-site frequency converters and high-voltage equipment. The signal gain can be steplessly adjusted from 100 to 1000 times, adapting to weak flame signal collection under varying mounting distances and dusty furnace conditions. It can accurately distinguish real flames from furnace light reflection and high-temperature infrared interference, greatly reducing the probability of false alarms.

2.2 Flame Logic Judgment and Relay Output Unit

A high-speed flame signal processing circuit is embedded, with a flame detection response time ≤0.1s and a trip response time upon flame loss ≤0.2s, enabling rapid capture of instantaneous flameout faults. Two sealed SPDT relay output contacts (RA1/RB1, RA2/RB2) are equipped with a rated contact load of 5A/250VAC and 5A/30VDC, which can be directly connected to safety interlock loops, audible and visual alarms and PLC digital input terminals. It supports both normally energized flame detection mode and de-energized safety trip mode, complying with industrial fail-safe design specifications.

2.3 Power Supply and Hardware Protection Unit

It is compatible with two power supply types: 28VDC (20~35VDC) DC and 115VAC 60Hz AC, with a maximum total power consumption of 10W. Multi-stage protection circuits against reverse power connection, surge and overvoltage are integrated. The die-cast sealed metal enclosure offers dustproof, moisture-proof and anti-vibration performance for stable operation in harsh high-temperature, dusty and humid environments near furnaces. The internal PCB is coated with three-proof conformal coating to effectively prevent circuit aging failures caused by corrosive gas and condensation.

2.4 Wiring Terminal and Wall-Mounted Installation Structure Unit

Standard screw terminals with clear marking are integrated on the front panel for direct cable crimping without auxiliary terminal blocks. Four wall-mounting holes with standard spacing are reserved, allowing direct installation on control cabinet backplates or local explosion-proof junction boxes. It fits the standard opening dimensions of local cabinets for gas turbines and boilers, facilitating on-site replacement and retrofitting of legacy flame amplifiers of the same model.

4. Product Functions and Features

Dual-channel Redundant Signal Acquisition Greatly Improves Flame Monitoring Reliability
It supports simultaneous connection of two flame detectors and can be configured into a dual-channel AND redundant monitoring mode. Single-point faults of detectors or cables will not trigger false flameout interlocks, avoiding unplanned unit shutdown caused by single measuring point failure, which is ideal for high-safety combustion equipment such as gas turbines.

Wide Adjustable Gain plus UV Spectrum Discrimination Effectively Suppresses Various On-site Interferences

It only responds to signals within the 180~260nm ultraviolet band, shielding false signals including high-temperature furnace infrared radiation, furnace wall strong light reflection and welding interference. With continuously adjustable gain, stable flame signal collection can be realized by increasing the gain under conditions of furnace dust accumulation or long detector mounting distance, supporting long-term stable operation in complex furnace working conditions.

Millisecond-level Fast Response Ensures Safe Interlock of Combustion Systems

Signal identification and relay action can be completed within 0.2 seconds at the fastest upon flameout, enabling rapid shutdown of gas solenoid valves and triggering unit trip interlocks to prevent deflagration and explosion accidents caused by accumulation of unburned gas in furnaces, meeting safety specifications for high-risk facilities in thermal power and petrochemical industries.

Dual Power Supply with Wide Voltage Compatibility Ensures High Field Power Adaptability

Users can freely select DC or AC power supply, either from the 24VDC UPS in control cabinets or local 115VAC industrial power supplies. Stable operation is guaranteed within the allowable voltage fluctuation range, making it applicable to power supply retrofitting projects in power plants and chemical plants.

Industrial Sealed Reinforced Design Ensures Long-term Stable Operation under Harsh Conditions

The all-metal sealed enclosure together with three-proof PCB coating features wide temperature resistance, anti-vibration, moisture-proof and dust-proof performance, enabling 24/7 continuous operation in high-temperature, dusty and heavily vibrating local sites of boilers and gas turbines and reducing regular maintenance and replacement frequency of equipment.
