IV. Working Principle


  1. Mechanical Loading: Vertical compression from roller or silo weight deforms the internal magnetostrictive iron core of the pillow cell.
  2. Magneto-electric Conversion: Core deformation alters coil magnetic flux, generating a millivolt output proportional to applied load via Wheatstone bridge circuit.
  3. Signal Conditioning: Weak millivolt signal is fed into dedicated ABB transmitters and converted to standardized 4~20mA analog output.
  4. DCS Data Acquisition: The 4~20mA signal is wired into PLC/DCS AI modules; actual tension/weight values are calculated and displayed on upper HMI to realize PID constant tension regulation and silo inventory interlock control.
