1. Overview


GE IS220PDIAH1BE is a high-reliability discrete input I/O module (PDIA Pack) for the Mark VIe system, engineered for main control systems of gas turbines, steam turbines and combined-cycle generator units. The module acquires field passive dry contacts, pressure switches, limit contacts, valve feedback, emergency stop and interlock status and other discrete signals, providing underlying signal acquisition for unit start/stop sequence control, over-limit protection and emergency shutdown logic.


Equipped with dual Ethernet communication and dual redundant 24VDC power supply, it features channel galvanic isolation, hardware debounce and channel-level self-diagnosis. Certified to UL Class I Division 2 for hazardous areas, it suits continuous operation of power plants and oil & gas power facilities. It is widely applied in new unit matching, I/O expansion of legacy systems, spare part replacement and technical retrofits of control loops.

4. Operating Principle


Field discrete contact signals are fed into module acquisition channels via terminal boards. Signals first pass through galvanic isolation circuits to block interference, followed by signal filtering and debounce processing to determine contact status.The module continuously monitors the health of each loop. Valid signals are transmitted to the Mark VIe controller over dual Ethernet for execution of unit interlock, protection and sequence control logic.The module performs ongoing self-test of hardware, power supply and network links. Alarms are triggered immediately upon abnormalities to ensure safe and reliable operation of the unit control link.
