IV. Working Principle


After power-on and full hardware self-test of the dual-core control unit, sampling circuit, IGBT power drive and each communication port, the controller loads pre-configured excitation regulation parameters, limiter and protection setting values. The PT terminal voltage and CT stator current signals are collected, isolated and filtered, then calculated by the DSP processor to output PWM drive pulses according to voltage deviation, so as to adjust the DC excitation current to realize closed-loop stabilization of generator terminal voltage and reactive power.
During operation, the device monitors excitation current, unit frequency and excitation loop harmonic signals in real time. Once over-limit or fault occurs, it triggers limit action or protection alarm, latches fault waveform and event information, and uploads alarm signals to the background system. Under dual-channel configuration, the faulty main channel will automatically switch to the standby channel, and normal excitation regulation can be restored after fault troubleshooting and alarm reset.
