Description

ABB 3ASC25H208 DATX100

I. Basic Information

Model: DATX100 | Part Code: 3ASC25H208

Product Positioning: Pulse Trigger Isolation Board (Pulse Transformer Board) for ABB Symphony / AC800M drive systems. It is a dedicated drive isolation card for high-power SCR thyristor rectification and variable-speed drive systems, providing galvanic isolation between low-level control signals from master controllers and high-power main circuits as well as gate pulse triggering for thyristors. It serves as a critical spare part for retrofit projects of existing thermal power excitation systems, metallurgical rolling mills, electrolytic rectifier units and high-power DC drive equipment.

Brand: ABB | Origin: Switzerland
Category: Pulse transformer isolated drive board (integrated design with four independent isolated pulse transformers and terminal base onboard)
Compatibility: ABB Symphony DCS, AC800M controllers, high-power SCR rectifier bridges, DC speed regulators, generator excitation cabinets, electrolysis power cabinets and medium-frequency induction heating power supplies.
Mounting: DIN rail / slot flush mounting inside control cabinet; Overall dimensions: 215(W)×200(H)×35(D) mm; Net weight ≈1.06kg. Full PCB coated with Grade G3 anti-corrosion coating compliant with ISA71.04 industrial standard; overall IP20 protection rating for installation inside enclosed power cabinets.
Standard Configuration: Four integrated isolated pulse transformers, detachable European-style terminal blocks, onboard power supply circuit, board-level fault detection circuit and internal signal conditioning circuitry.

II. Technical Specifications

(1) Electrical Parameters

Power Supply: DC24V±10%, rated operating current 180mA; built-in hardware protection against reverse polarity and surge voltage.
Trigger Specifications: Pulse output frequency: 10kHz~30kHz; pulse rising edge <500ns; four channels with independent galvanic isolation, single-channel withstand voltage ≥2500VAC to eliminate ground loop interference between low-voltage control and high-voltage power circuits. Compliant with standard rated gate voltage & current requirements for SCR thyristor driving.

Control Side: Receives low-voltage TTL logic trigger pulses from main control boards; pulses are galvanically isolated via pulse transformers and converted into high-power drive pulses for thyristor gate terminals.

(2) I/O & Sampling Configuration

Analog Channels: 2×RTD temperature input + 2×universal analog input (configurable between 4~20mA / 0~10VDC via jumper setting), 1×analog output (optional 4~20mA / 0~10VDC).

Digital Signals: Onboard dry contact fault feedback; fault signals transmitted back to AC800M / Symphony DCS; high-speed I/O refresh cycle: 1ms.

(3) Environmental Specifications

Continuous Operating Temperature: -25℃~+70℃; Storage Temperature: -40℃~+75℃.
Humidity: 5%~95% RH non-condensing; meets Level 4 IEC61000 EMC industrial immunity standard to withstand heavy electromagnetic radiation from high-power equipment in metallurgical plants and power stations.

III. Key Features

  1. Complete Galvanic Isolation Between Low-Voltage & High-Voltage Circuits
    Equipped with independent built-in pulse transformers to fully isolate low-voltage master control loops from high-voltage rectifier power loops, preventing surge damage to main control boards and protecting DCS controllers.
  2. High-Precision Thyristor Pulse Triggering
    Outputs phase-shift trigger pulses with high synchronous accuracy to realize closed-loop voltage regulation and speed control for SCR rectifiers. Precise constant voltage & constant current performance satisfies stringent operating requirements of electrolysis and generator excitation applications.
  3. Onboard Self-Diagnosis & Fault Feedback
    Real-time monitoring of power supply, pulse output circuits and transformer winding conditions; fault dry-contact signals are uploaded to DCS and trigger popup alarms on 800xA HMI for rapid fault localization of trigger loops.
  4. Modular Hot-Swap Replacement
    Standardized board layout allows direct plug-and-play replacement of identical spare units; in-situ card swap is available without long-term system shutdown to shorten maintenance downtime of drive systems.
  5. Multi-Signal Compatibility
    Analog channels support flexible jumper switching among current, voltage and RTD signals. The board functions dually as a pulse trigger driver and field process/temperature acquisition card to fit diversified retrofit projects.

IV. Operating Principle

DC24V power-on → Automatic self-test of onboard power circuit, transformer windings and signal channels.
Downlink path: Phase-shift control pulses (low-level TTL signals) sent from AC800M/DCS → Signal conditioning on DATX100 → Isolation & voltage boost via pulse transformers → High-power trigger pulses output to SCR gates to control rectifier conduction angle.
Uplink path: Cabinet RTD temperature and fault status → Analog/digital sampling on board → Converted into standard signals and uploaded to AC800M DCS.
Fault logic: Upon abnormal status of any pulse channel, the board latches fault information, marks hidden local fault and sends corresponding popup alarm to upper DCS platform.

V. Application Scenarios

  1. Spare retrofit parts for SCR trigger systems of excitation rectifier cabinets in thermal power turbo-generator units;
  2. Modification of high-power DC mill drive systems for hot & cold rolling production lines in metallurgy industry;
  3. Supporting control system for high-power rectifier power supplies of electrolytic cells in aluminum and chlor-alkali chemical plants;
  4. Trigger control for industrial medium-frequency induction heating equipment and high-power UPS inverters;
  5. Replacement spare for drive system upgrading projects from legacy Symphony DCS to AC800M.
