High-density 32-point DI acquisition with grouped opto-isolation

Every 8 channels form an independently optocoupler-isolated group. Leakage or short-circuit on one single circuit will not affect other channels on the same card, making it ideal for on-site valve position and equipment feedback acquisition under harsh field conditions.

Adaptive dual input mode

No field rewiring required between passive dry contacts (valve limit switches) and 24VDC active signals (relay contacts); input type can be switched via software configuration.


Channel-level self-diagnosis

Corresponding local LED alarm triggers upon single-channel short-circuit or line leakage; fault information is uploaded to DCS HMI via PROFIBUS-DP for fast faulty circuit identification.

Drop-in same-series replacement without field rewiring

All GMKP2800 variants share identical dimension and terminal definition; faulty cards can be directly plugged out and replaced with no modification to the base unit.

Compatibility with new & legacy ABB DCS platforms

Suitable for new AC800M projects and used to replace obsolete DI boards during Advant/Bailey system retrofits while reusing existing field cables.


IV. Working Principle


  • Power-on Self-test: After 24VDC energization, the module runs self-check on power circuit, optocoupler loops and backplane communication chips, then completes communication handshake with rack master controller.
  • Contact Signal Acquisition: Field valve position and equipment start/stop feedback signals are fed via terminals and converted into internal digital levels after optoelectrical isolation.
  • Data Packaging: Cyclically collect and pack 32-channel switch status data before uploading to master CPU such as PM645B via backplane or PROFIBUS-DP bus.
  • Parameter Reception: Receive configuration parameters from master to toggle between active/passive input modes.
  • Fault Reporting: Abnormal channels are latched with corresponding LED illuminated, and fault codes are uploaded to upper monitoring system.
