IV. Working Principle


The proximitor transmits high-frequency alternating excitation current to the internal coil of the armored probe, generating alternating magnetic field which induces closed eddy current loop on the surface of the measured metal target. The equivalent impedance of the coil changes linearly with the clearance between probe tip and metal surface, and the proximitor converts impedance variation into standardized negative DC voltage signal and transmits it to the 3500 monitoring module. Vibration and axial displacement cause real-time clearance fluctuation and voltage change, which is converted into physical displacement parameters for data trending, threshold alarm and safety interlock.
