Description
Schneider 140XCP51000
1. Overview
Schneider 140XCP51000 is a dedicated RIO (Remote I/O) remote station communication adapter module for PLC systems. Serving as the core communication hub of distributed control systems, it is not an independent CPU but a special communication processor for remote I/O stations. It is designed to connect Quantum master stations and on-site I/O modules to realize high-speed deterministic data exchange between master and slave stations. Its main functions include receiving I/O data frames transmitted by the main PLC (such as 140CPU67160) via coaxial cables, distributing frames to local I/O modules, and packaging and transmitting on-site input signals back to the master station. It effectively meets the communication requirements of long-distance signal acquisition and control, and prevents problems such as communication interruption, data transmission delay and address conflict.Adopting industrial-grade design with stable communication performance and excellent environmental adaptability, this module needs to be used with master station RIO processors (such as 140CRP93100), remote backplanes and local power supply modules. It can be seamlessly integrated into Schneider Quantum series distributed control systems, and is widely used in industrial scenarios requiring wide-area signal acquisition and control, including water treatment, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing industries.

3. Technical Features
- High-speed deterministic communication: Supports high communication rate of 1.544 Mbps (T1 standard), ensuring fast refreshing of I/O data between master and slave stations and deterministic data exchange. It meets the real-time requirements of distributed control systems and effectively eliminates data transmission delay.
Flexible and convenient expansion: Allows expansion of up to 8 local I/O modules. It can be matched with various Quantum I/O modules (digital, analog, etc.) according to on-site demands to adapt to remote control systems of different scales without overall equipment upgrade, reducing expansion costs.
- Simple address configuration: Equipped with 6-bit DIP switches for address setting from 1 to 31 with automatic station address recognition for easy operation. Unique network-wide addresses avoid communication conflicts and improve system stability.
Efficient and convenient maintenance: Integrated LED indicators including Active, Fault and Network OK intuitively display module operating status, fault conditions and network connection status, enabling on-site personnel to locate faults quickly and lowering maintenance difficulty and cost.
- High compatibility and integrability: Specially designed for Schneider Quantum series PLC, it works seamlessly with master station RIO processors, remote backplanes and local power modules. It is compatible with multiple standard Quantum I/O modules and can be integrated into existing Quantum distributed control systems without extra modification.
- Industrial-grade reliability: Made of high-grade industrial components complying with multiple industrial certifications, with strong anti-interference performance and wide operating temperature range from 0℃ to +60℃ for stable operation in complex industrial environments. Powered by local backplane independent of the master station, it improves system redundancy.
4. Application Scenarios
(1) Water Treatment Industry
Widely used in large water plants and pumping stations. Remote I/O stations are deployed in water intake pump houses and chlorination rooms far from the central control room. The 140XCP51000 module realizes communication between the master station and on-site I/O modules, collects signals such as liquid level, pressure and motor status, uploads data to the central control system, and receives control commands to remotely control pumps and valves for stable and efficient water treatment processes.
(2) Power Transmission & Distribution
Adapted to substations and distribution stations. Remote I/O stations are installed on site to connect master stations and field equipment via this module. It realizes centralized monitoring of key parameters including circuit breaker status, alarm signals and temperature control contacts, enabling remote monitoring and control of power equipment and improving automation level and maintenance efficiency of power transmission systems.
(3) Infrastructure
Applied to tunnel & subway electromechanical systems and airport baggage conveying systems. Remote I/O stations are arranged every hundreds of meters along tunnels to control fans, lighting and drainage pumps and transmit operating status through 140XCP51000 modules. Remote stations in airport terminals connect photoelectric sensors and motor status signals for centralized scheduling of baggage conveying systems, improving intelligent operation of infrastructure.
