4. Operating Principle
After power-on, the Emerson 5X00790G01 completes hardware initialization, 64-pin backplane bus handshake, relay loop self-test and communication verification, and enters standby status after passing inspection. The module real-timely receives discrete logic commands from the DCS main controller, and precisely controls the pull-in and breakage of each channel relay contact through internal drive circuits. It outputs passive dry-contact switch signals to drive on-site contactors, solenoid valves, alarm devices and actuators to complete start-stop, switch and interlock actions.
Adopting strong/weak current isolation architecture, the module completely separates DCS weak-current control signals from on-site strong-current load loops, fundamentally avoiding system hardware damage and logic disorder caused by high-voltage intrusion. During full-time operation, it continuously monitors relay contact status, load loop conditions and bus communication quality. Once contact abnormality, short circuit, open circuit or communication failure is detected, it immediately triggers single-channel fault locking and alarm to isolate faulty channels and ensure overall system logic stability.
