2. Technical Features
2.1 High-Density Integration of 16 Channels for Strong Point Expansion Capacity
A single module incorporates 16 fully independent analog input channels with high channel density. It enables centralized acquisition of various plant-wide process analog parameters, significantly reducing the quantity of modules in cabinets, simplifying the I/O architecture and saving cabinet installation space. Each channel performs signal processing independently without mutual interference. Single-channel configuration and isolated single-point faults are supported; abnormalities on one channel will not affect acquisition on other channels. It meets the demand for centralized monitoring of massive analog points in large-scale facilities.
2.2 Compatibility with Multiple Signal Types for Excellent Versatility
The module supports standard industrial analog signals: 4~20 mA, 0~20 mA DC current and ±10 V DC voltage. It can directly connect with most industrial sensors and primary instruments such as pressure, flow, level, temperature and differential pressure transmitters. No additional signal isolators or converters are required. Signal types of each channel can be freely switched via system configuration, adapting to acquisition requirements of different process points with strong field adaptability and universality.
2.3 Ultra-High Acquisition Accuracy for Precise and Stable Process Control
Adopting industrial-grade high-precision AD conversion unit with steady-state acquisition accuracy up to 0.025%, combined with multi-stage hardware filtering and intelligent digital filtering algorithms, the module effectively suppresses high-frequency interference, signal fluctuation and clutter noise on site. Acquired data features high linearity, low temperature drift error and no long-term drift. It provides high-precision data support for system PID regulation, process interlocks, parameter monitoring and over-limit alarms, satisfying strict high-precision control requirements of fine chemical, thermal power and precision process industries.
2.4 High-Speed Sampling Response with Excellent Real-Time Performance
The module supports a maximum update rate of 1000 Hz. It completes full-channel data acquisition, conversion and uploading within milliseconds with fast data refresh and extremely low latency. It can accurately capture instantaneous changes of process parameters and adapt to control scenarios with dynamic process regulation and rapid condition variation. It thoroughly eliminates regulation deviation caused by data lag and delayed update of traditional low-speed acquisition modules, ensuring real-time performance and tracking capability of the entire control system.
2.5 Full-Channel Electrical Isolation with Outstanding Anti-Interference Performance
All analog input channels adopt independent electrical isolation design to realize complete isolation between channels, internal and external loops, and strong and weak circuits. Built-in surge suppression, ESD protection and electromagnetic shielding structures effectively resist severe interferences on industrial sites such as inverter harmonics, electromagnetic radiation from high-voltage equipment, power fluctuation and ground loop current. Signal distortion, data jumping and abnormal acquisition are avoided, making it suitable for harsh high-interference industrial environments in power plants, chemical plants and metallurgical sites.
2.6 Hot-Swap and Online Maintenance Support to Secure Continuous Production
Hot-swap installation and replacement are allowed under live operating conditions. No system shutdown, process halt or interruption of control logic is required during module maintenance, fault replacement or point expansion. The module is equipped with comprehensive on-board self-diagnosis functions to monitor channel open-circuit, short-circuit, signal over-range, hardware failure and bus anomalies in real time. Fault points can be precisely located and alarm information uploaded, greatly lowering downtime risks for maintenance and adapting to 7×24-hour continuous production conditions.
2.7 Native System Compatibility for Rapid Adaptation with Minimal Commissioning
Natively compatible with the ABB S800 I/O bus as well as the full series of AC800M and Advant OCS control systems. Bus protocols, point definitions, communication timing and configuration logic are fully matched with original specifications. Automatic system identification, mounting and parameter synchronization are supported. Replacement of legacy modules in situ requires no modification to system programs and control logic. The module can be commissioned for operation merely by simple channel parameter setup, greatly reducing difficulties in technical renovation and maintenance.

4. Operating Principle
The ABB DSAI130A analog input module operates based on the S800 I/O bus architecture and high-precision differential acquisition principle. After power-on, the module automatically completes hardware self-test, channel initialization and bus attachment, and synchronizes control system configuration parameters, range settings, filtering parameters and channel attributes.
During normal operation, 16 independent channels simultaneously receive current/voltage analog signals output by field transmitters. Differential sampling circuits eliminate common-mode interference. After noise reduction via hardware filtering, signals are sent to the high-precision AD conversion unit to convert analog signals into standard digital signals. The built-in processor performs secondary digital filtering, range conversion, data verification and anomaly screening on digital signals to eliminate interference clutter and abnormal data. Accurate process parameters are finally uploaded to the DCS main controller via the S800 bus, providing reliable data support for system parameter display, logic operation, PID regulation, over-limit alarming and interlock control.
The module continuously monitors signal status, circuit continuity and hardware conditions of each channel. Once anomalies such as signal open-circuit, short-circuit, over-range or hardware failure are detected, the faulty channel is locked immediately and fault alarm codes uploaded. Meanwhile, other healthy channels maintain continuous acquisition, realizing fault-tolerant, stable and closed-loop operation of the analog acquisition system.
