I. Overview
ABB SD834 3BSC610067R1 is a switch-mode power supply module, with its core positioning as a wide-voltage input and stable DC output power supply unit for industrial automation systems. It belongs to ABB's industrial-grade power supply product series and is specially designed for scenarios with stringent requirements for power supply stability, such as petrochemical, electric power, and intelligent manufacturing industries. This module supports dual AC/DC input modes, which can accurately convert a wide range of input voltages into a stable 24V DC output. It is equipped with multiple circuit protection, parallel expansion, and status feedback functions, and can provide reliable power supply for downstream key equipment such as PLCs, DCS controllers, sensors, and actuators, serving as a core power supply component to ensure the continuous operation of industrial control systems.
II. Core Features
Wide-range AC/DC Dual Input: Supports 100-240V AC input and 110-300V DC input, compatible with different industrial power supply scenarios. It can be directly connected to the primary circuit of the TN power distribution system without additional power conversion equipment, complies with Overvoltage Category III standards, and has extremely strong adaptability.
Stable Output and Parallel Expansion: Provides a fixed 24V DC output voltage with a rated output current of 20A, featuring high output precision and low fluctuation. It supports parallel operation of multiple modules, which can flexibly expand output power to meet the simultaneous power supply needs of multiple devices in large-scale control systems, while maintaining output stability after parallel connection.
Multiple Safety Protection Mechanisms: As a Class I device (requiring connection to protective earth PE), it is equipped with electrical isolation protection between the primary circuit and the secondary circuit. The output terminal is provided with overcurrent limiting and overvoltage protection (OVP) functions, and also supports SELV/PELV safety extra-low voltage standards, complying with a number of international safety specifications to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel.
- Status Feedback and Convenient Operation & Maintenance: Built-in DC-OK relay signal output, which can feed back the power supply operation status in real time to facilitate the control system to monitor the power supply situation in real time. It supports TS35 DIN rail installation, with a compact structure (82mm×127mm×124mm) and a net weight of 1.2kg, enabling convenient installation and disassembly and reducing operation and maintenance costs.

IV. Working Principle
ABB SD834 3BSC610067R1 power supply module realizes the conversion from AC/DC input to stable 24V DC output based on the core working process of wide-range input rectification - filtering and voltage regulation - precise output - status monitoring and protection. The specific working process is divided into four core stages:
After the module is connected to 100-240V AC or 110-300V DC input voltage, the rectifier circuit first converts the AC input into DC voltage, and at the same time is compatible with direct access of DC input. The internal adaptation circuit adapts to different input voltage ranges to ensure that the input voltage stably enters the next stage.
The rectified voltage passes through the filter circuit to remove clutter and interference signals, and then is accurately regulated by the switch-mode voltage stabilizing circuit to stabilize the voltage at the rated output value of 24V DC. At the same time, voltage fluctuations are suppressed to ensure output accuracy and meet the requirements of downstream equipment for power supply stability.
The stabilized 24V DC voltage is transmitted to downstream equipment through the output terminal, and the output current can be dynamically adjusted according to load requirements, with a maximum output of 20A supported. When multiple modules operate in parallel, current sharing is achieved through the synchronization circuit to expand the overall output power, while maintaining the coordinated stability of the output of each module.
