IV. Working Principle and Application Logic


The ABB PFTL201C 10kN sensor realizes precise force measurement based on the magnetoelastic effect following the core logic of "stress sensing - magnetic change conversion - signal conditioning - data output". Its core working process is as follows:


Phase 1: Stress Sensing and Magnetic Change Triggering

The sensor is installed at the load-bearing point (such as the strip conveyor roller pillow block or the fixed end of crane steel wire rope). When force acts on the sensor, the internal stainless steel inductor generates a tiny mechanical deformation (deflection is only 0.010mm), which causes linear changes in magnetic property parameters such as magnetic permeability, completing the conversion of mechanical stress into magnetic signals.


Phase 2: Signal Conversion and Interference Shielding

The built-in detection coil captures the changes in magnetic properties and converts them into weak electrical signals, which are amplified and filtered by the signal conditioning circuit to optimize signal quality. At the same time, the temperature compensation circuit offsets the influence of temperature changes, and the algorithm shields roller dead weight, lateral force and electromagnetic interference, retaining only the target tension/load signal.


Phase 3: Data Output and System Linkage
